What is EMDR Intensive Therapy?

An EMDR Intensive comprises 3–6 hours of concentrated EMDR therapy in a single day, used to heal and uncover past traumas that are keeping you stuck.

Traditional weekly therapy gives you roughly fifty minutes at a time. A meaningful portion of that hour goes to settling in, catching up, and closing down safely. In an Intensive, that overhead happens once. The rest of the day is reprocessing.

A typical Intensive has three parts. First, a preparation and history-gathering session where we map your targets and build resourcing skills. Then the Intensive day itself, structured with generous breaks. Finally, a follow-up session to integrate what shifted and plan next steps.

Intensives suit people who want momentum: those with demanding schedules, those who travel, those who find it hard to reopen painful material week after week, and those working through a single identifiable event.

Research on massed EMDR delivery continues to show meaningful symptom reduction in far less calendar time than weekly care. For many clients, that faster path is the difference between starting and staying stuck.
